The Global Manganese Association (GMA) was pleased to participate in the Indian Ferro Alloy Producers Association (IFAPA) Conference 2026, held in Goa, India.
GMA Secretary General Mark Camaj joined industry leaders for the panel discussion “Manganese Ore in Flux: Global Supply Risks and Trade Realignment,” which explored the changing dynamics of global manganese supply, developments in China and India, global trade and plans to increase domestic ore production in India.
The panel brought together representatives from across the manganese and steel value chains, including MOIL, Eramet, Million Link and Tata Steel, and was moderated by Kevin Fowkes of AlloyMetrics.
The conference represented an important milestone for GMA as the Association’s first participation in an external industry conference since its establishment. GMA was also delighted to see five of its international members represented at the event, Sarda, Carbon Resources, Million Link, Ronly and Consmin, highlighting the Association’s growing international reach and the importance of greater cooperation across the global manganese industry.
GMA extends its particular thanks to Manish Sarda, Chairman of IFAPA, for his invitation and warm welcome to the conference. Mr. Sarda’s company, Sarda Energy & Minerals Ltd (SEML), is also a valued member of GMA, and GMA greatly appreciates his support for greater engagement and cooperation across the manganese and ferroalloys industries.
With China’s steel industry evolving, India’s steel sector continuing to expand, producer costs increasing and global trade patterns changing, forums such as IFAC provide an important opportunity for producers, consumers and other industry participants to exchange perspectives and address common challenges.
GMA thanks IFAPA, the conference organisers, fellow panellists, GMA members and all participants who contributed to the discussions in Goa.
The Association looks forward to continuing to expand its international engagement and to working with companies throughout the manganese value chain to promote practical cooperation, knowledge sharing and sustainable development of the industry.
